How to Choose your Wedding Dress Style

Your wedding dress is one of the most important parts of your big day which is why you want it to be perfect. Before you go out picking a wedding dress, think about the style you want. Do you want a mini dress, a ball gown, a bodycon dress, or something super flowy? There are tons of options out there and we know it can all get a bit confusing. To make things easier for you, we’ll be discussing some tips and tricks on how to choose your wedding dress style.

Keep the Location in Mind

Knowing the place and time for your wedding can narrow things down. If you’re having a daytime wedding on the beach, you probably want to stay clear or ball gowns or wedding dresses with long trains. For brides saying their vows on a cathedral, short slip dresses should be avoided. They can, however, wear that during the reception.

Details are important when it comes to picking out a wedding dress. Not everything looks good on everyone, so focus on finding the best wedding dress silhouette for you. Try not to get caught up in the trend of the moment, go for a style that flatters you the most. We all have certain styles or cuts that look the best on us, go have a look through your existing wardrobe and figure out what looks good on you, and flatters your figure.

While a long dress with a train or a fancy hemline is super cute, but don’t forget about the top. The bodice is what people will notice the most and it’ll also be more prominent in wedding pictures

Do Your Research

Unless you love going through bridal magazines every single week, you probably can’t differentiate between three shades of white. There is a lot to learn about bridal dresses, so make sure to do your research properly. Go through magazines, blogs and websites to gain knowledge about fabrics, silhouettes and places to buy wedding dresses from.

Keep an Open Mind

While we do encourage to figure out what works best for your figure beforehand, but it is still important to keep an open mind when you’re dress hunting. Bridal consultants at stores do this in an out, so listen to their advice even if you don’t agree to it. Some dresses may not look appealing on the hanger but look great on. However, never allow yourself to be talked into purchasing a wedding you’re not in love with.

Have a Budget

When dress hunting, have a budget in mind as it can help put things in perspective. Tell the salesperson your budget so she only shows you dresses you can afford.
